I FEEL SLOVENIA NIGHT OF THE DRAGON

MORE THAN JUST A GAME OF BASKETBALL
A fantastic career deserved a magnificent finale in which charity was not just an additional note but dictated the melody and rhythm.
In August 2024, the project I feel Slovenia Night of the Dragon culminated. We, together with our long-term client, the Goran Dragić Foundation, and co-organizers, agencies Fabulatorij and Sport Media Focus, had been planning, preparing, and creating it for over a year.
The event marking the end of a glorious career had to match the level of excellence with which Goran had impressed us over the past two decades. The organizers ensured that Gogi’s farewell match became an unforgettable spectacle, full of the biggest basketball names, unexpected surprises, never-before-seen innovations, and entertaining, positive, charitable, and creative accompanying activities.
The climax of the year-long activities began with Friday’s business-social-sporting event Business Talk, which brought together the project’s sponsors and partners, along with Goran’s basketball guests, offering them an opportunity to share knowledge, network, and exchange experiences.
On the eve of the golden captain of the Slovenian basketball team’s last basketball dance, a charitable Gala dinner was held in the Stožice arena. In the festive atmosphere of Stožice’s beauty, guests enjoyed the team selection for the match, conducted by captains Goran Dragić and Luka Dončić, an exceptional musical and artistic program, and top-level culinary delights. The cherry on top was the charity auction, which raised a six-figure sum in US dollars.
The event marking the end of Dragić’s basketball career reached its peak where Gogi feels most at home—on the basketball court. On Saturday, August 24th, a top-notch sports-entertainment event took place in Ljubljana’s Stožice, unlike anything Slovenia had ever seen. In a star-studded showdown in a friendly atmosphere, numerous basketball masters, who had walked at least part of the path from Ilirija to the Milwaukee Bucks with Goran, showcased their skills in his honor. Alongside the basketball players’ moves, the positive atmosphere in the arena was further enhanced by numerous surprises, sponsor activations, fan zone animations, and a fascinating halftime show.

Reach
The TV broadcast of the match was aired in nine countries and globally through the NBA app.
The event garnered over one billion impressions on social media.
On TV Slovenija 1, the live broadcast attracted 519,758 viewers.
In addition to the RTV Slovenia news team, 130 journalists from nine countries covered the event live on-site.
Numerous leading media outlets, from the United States to China, reported on the event.
Content from the match was shared across the channels of the NBA and its franchises, Euroleague, and FIBA.

Extent
The total budget for the event, including the charitable aspect, was approximately 1.8 million euros.
The entire accompanying program and all performers were the result of Slovenian expertise (over 500 participants).
The core organizational team consisted of just 10 individuals.
We prepared the Stožice Arena for both events (the gala dinner and the match) over the course of eight days.
The project was developed over 13 months.
We engaged 39 sponsors and partners for the project.
Coordination backstage and in the stands was managed by 75 volunteers, along with a larger organizational team that numbered 50 members on the event days.

Effect
With the funds raised from ticket sales, charitable SMS contributions, the auction at the gala dinner, Petrol’s Gogi coins, and special donations, we surpassed €700,000, which was allocated to the Botrstvo v športu program and the Goran Dragić Foundation.
Tickets for the spectacle at the Stožice Arena sold out almost immediately after online sales opened.
This was the second event of its kind outside North America to receive official designation and support (referees, TV, social media, PR) from the NBA.
All replicas of the jerseys worn by the players, specially designed for this occasion by Adidas, were also sold out.
The project brought international stars such as Nikola Jokić, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Chris Bosh, Kevin McHale, Dejan Bodiroga, Predrag Danilović, Luis Scola, Aleksandar Đorđević, and many others to Slovenia.
